Key Takeaway: This step requires access to the source code of your web page or application. You won’t be changing anything. The UserGuiding Container Code just has to be inserted into the head section. If you’re uncomfortable with this, consult your nearest friendly developer.
You can also embed our tracking code into your software using Google’s Tag Manager.
To learn how, check out This Article.
Otherwise, let’s begin!
Head to your UserGuiding panel.
From there we’re concerned with the Containers tab within the Settings section, where you can view all your existing containers.
In the Code Embedding column, outlined in the screenshot below, you can check to see if you’ve embedded the container code in corresponding domains. A check mark indicates you have. An X means you haven’t yet.
To add container code to a new domain, click on the ‘Show’ button for any container. In the window that opens, use the ‘Click Here to Copy’ to automatically copy the code so you can right click and paste it into the head section of your website.
If you aren’t comfortable doing this yourself, send your friendly developer an email and have them embed the UserGuiding tracking code.
The following 34-second video demonstrates this simple process.
