Customization & Themes

Overview

Effective communication with users is a crucial aspect of successful onboarding. Customizing the language settings in your themes allows you to translate and tailor common terms to better resonate with your target audience. This can significantly enhance user engagement and satisfaction.

Accessing Language Settings

  1. Navigate to Themes: Begin by accessing the language settings for your onboarding material. To do this, click on the “Themes” option located under the Engagement section of your UserGuiding dashboard.
  2. Open the Language Tab: Within the Themes section, click on the “Language” tab. This tab provides you with the tools needed to translate and customize various terms used throughout your onboarding materials.

Customizing Language Options

  1. Edit Common Terms: The Language tab lists common terms and phrases used in your onboarding guides, checklists, and other materials. You can edit these terms to better suit your users' language preferences and cultural context.
    • Examples of Terms: Customize terms like “Next,” “Previous,” “Submit,” and other instructional texts to make them more intuitive and user-friendly for your audience.
  2. Save and Publish Changes: After making the necessary adjustments, it is essential to save your changes. Click on the “Save” button to store your modifications. Once saved, click on “Publish Changes” to apply the updates to your live onboarding materials.

Localization Example

Customizing language settings enables you to localize your themes effectively. For instance, if your primary user base speaks Spanish, you can translate all common terms and phrases into Spanish. This not only makes your onboarding materials more accessible but also demonstrates a commitment to providing a personalized user experience.

Benefits of Custom Language Settings

  • Improved User Engagement: By speaking the language of your users, you create a more welcoming and relatable environment, which can lead to higher engagement rates.
  • Enhanced User Satisfaction: Tailoring the language to meet user expectations can significantly enhance overall satisfaction and retention.
  • Cultural Relevance: Ensuring that your onboarding materials are culturally relevant helps in building trust and credibility with your users.

By customizing the language settings in your themes, you can create a more inclusive and user-friendly onboarding experience that aligns with the diverse needs of your audience.
