When you make changes in your guides or hotspots, you should click on the Publish Changes on the upright of your panel to make the changes visible to your users. 

This will update the live code embedded on your web page. This means the work you've done on the extension will be synced to the JS code that you've added to your page.

You can consider the 'Publish' action as publishing a new version; changes are not visible until you update.

PS: Don't forget to activate your guides/hotspots.
