Every single step you need to take is listed within our Onboarding Checklist within the Panel. You can follow this article's instructions to complete the integration process with UserGuiding.

Step 1: Embed the Container Code

A container is a Js code snippet that you need to embed in your web platform to successfully integrate with UserGuiding.

When you create a guide, in order to make it visible on your website, you should assign a container to it. Expectedly, this container should be embedded in the website you want to show the guide.

Thus, the connection between your website and the materials you create with UserGuiding can be established by the container code.

We provide you a default one having a unique ID, which you can see at Panel > Settings > Containers.

Step 2: Download UserGuiding Extension

In order to create, design and edit guides&hotspots, you need to download UserGuiding Chrome Extension.

Step 3: Create Your First Guide

And you've arrived in the Panel, under the Content section, you will find Guides tab, click on it.

To start creating your first guide, find the + NEW GUIDE button and click on.

  • Then type in the main URL of the webpage, where you want to create your first guide, then click START button;

Now, your webpage is opened in a new window, with the UserGuiding extension upon it (you won't miss it!)

  • Next, tap into the extension to name and describe your new guide and click on the Create button.

After that, you can add steps to your newly created guide via + Step button or with Click Here. In order to learn more about the different steps within a guide, see also: Different Kind of Steps Within a Guide

Step 4: Go Live!

From this point on, all you need to do is to activate your guide's status!

Go to the guide's settings > turn its status to active > Save > click on Publish Changes.

By doing so, you make your guide visible to your end users. In other words, once the users arrive to the targeted url, the guide can come into view.
