Overview

In UserGuiding, page targeting is how you determine what page(s) you want your content to display. In this article, we’ll explain how to set your Resource Center's targeting to ensure it appears in the right place within your web platform.

Utilizing Page Targeting

Before defining the page targeting rules, create a Resource Center first. To do that, access the Resource Center section under the Content menu and click on “+ Create Resource Center.

If you have already created a Resource Center, access the Resource Center section under the Content menu, and click on the “Settings” icon of the respective Resource Center.

While creating or editing a Resource Center, you can adjust the targeting settings in the “Page Targeting” section by opening the Configure tab.

How to set the target page URL?

A target is composed of a rule and a URL bit and functions as it is read - from left to right. To set a target page URL, you should:

  • Open the Dropdown Menu, which contains the rules.

  • Select the rule that is relevant to your case.

  • Enter the URL bit of your page into the URL field.

  • If you need, add a new target.

  • Set an AND or OR condition between your targets.

Let’s see a page targeting example that displays a resource center on a single page:

You can select among different rules and add multiple targets to specify the page(s) your Resource Center will be visible to your end-users. See this article that explains how to show your content on multiple pages.
