Deleting a step from a Guide in UserGuiding is straightforward, but it’s important to proceed with caution as this action cannot be undone. Follow these detailed steps to remove a Guide step using the UserGuiding Chrome Extension.
Instructions
- Open Your Guide: To begin, open the Guide you want to modify using the UserGuiding Chrome Extension. For guidance on how to open the extension, refer to this help article.
- Accessing the Guide: Ensure you are logged into your UserGuiding account and have the necessary permissions to edit the Guide.

- Locate the Step to Delete: In the Guide editor, find the step you wish to remove. Each step is typically represented by a visual element.
- Delete the Step:
- Click on the "More" Button: For the step you want to delete, click on the More button, which can be found by clicking the three vertical dots.
- Select the "Delete" Option: From the menu, click the Delete button to initiate the removal process.
- Confirm the Deletion:
- Warning Message: A warning message will pop up, notifying you that the deletion cannot be undone. Carefully review this message to ensure you want to proceed.
- Finalize Deletion: If you are certain about deleting the step, click the Delete button in the warning message window. If you decide against deleting the step, click Cancel to abort the process.

Important Note
Once you confirm the deletion, the step will be permanently removed from the Guide. Make sure to double-check before finalizing to avoid accidental loss of important content.
