Overview

You can personalize your Checklist by sending user attributes to UserGuiding and inserting them into your content.

You can send relevant information, such as name, email, company name, job role, sign-up date, etc. Learn more on how to send them through this article.

Where can I display user attributes within a Checklist?

With personalization, you can display attributes in the following sections:

  • Checklist Title & Subtitle

  • Search Bar placeholder text

  • Launcher text

  • Items in the Checklist header

How can I add user attributes to my Checklist?

  • Access the Panel and click on Checklists on the left-side menu.

  • Choose the Checklist you want to edit, and then click on it (or click on the cog icon).

  • Select the section that you want to personalize. In the example below, we are personalizing the Checklist Title.

  • Insert the custom attribute’s name. Please ensure that it is wrapped in two curly braces. Example: {{name}} or {{company}}.

  • If you are unsure that a user attribute will have a value assigned to all your end-users, you can add a fallback value using the pipe character “|.” Example: Hi {{name | there}}!

  • Once you have added a Guide or a Page URL to the Items in the Checklist section, you can apply the same syntax to its header.

Important: You won’t be able to see your personalization working through the preview mode while editing your Checklist. The user attributes you add will only be displayed on your web platform after publishing changes from the UserGuiding Panel.

The result will be something similar to this:
