You can personalize your Promoter Survey by sending user properties to UserGuiding and inserting them into your content.

Sending User Properties (Custom Attributes)

User properties are custom attributes you send to UserGuiding from your platform. Such as name, email, company name, job role, sign-up date, etc. You can learn more on how to send them through this article.

Where can I display dynamic text within a Promoter Survey?

With personalization, you can display user properties in:

  • Survey Question;

  • Feedback Question;

  • Thank You Message;

  • Rating Scale Texts;

  • Button Texts.

How can I add dynamic text to my Promoter Survey?

  • In your Panel, navigate to the Promoter Survey section, and go to Settings.

  • Insert the custom attribute’s name to the section you want to personalize. Please ensure it’s wrapped by double-curly braces. (i.e. {{name}} or {{role}}).

  • If you are unsure that a custom attribute will have a value assigned to all your end-users, you can add a fallback value using the pipe character “|”. Example: Hi {{name | there}}!

⚠️ You won’t be able to see your personalization working through the preview mode while editing your Promoter Survey. The dynamic text you add will only be displayed on your web platform after publishing changes from the UserGuiding Panel.
