You can personalize your Resource Centers by sending user properties to UserGuiding and inserting them into your content.

Sending User Properties (Custom Attributes)

User properties are custom attributes you send to UserGuiding from your platform. Such as name, email, company name, job role, sign-up date, etc. You can learn more on how to send them through this article.

Where can I add dynamic text?

With personalization, you can display user variables in:

  • Title & Subtitle

  • Search Bar Placeholder

  • Guide & Checklist Names within the Resource Center

  • Header & Description of the Module

  • Launcher Text within the Customize tab

How can I insert a dynamic variable?

  • In your Panel, navigate to the Resource Center section, and select the one that you want to edit.

  • Insert the custom attribute’s name to the section you want to add dynamic value. Please ensure it’s wrapped by double-curly braces. (i.e. {{name}} or {{role}})

  • If you are not sure that a property will have a value assigned to it, you can add a fallback value using the pipe character “|” and a fallback text before closing the braces. (Ex. Hi {{name | there}}!)

⚠️ Personalization won’t happen when you preview your checklist in the Panel. Dynamic texts you send will only be displayed on the live (published) version of your UserGuiding content.

The result will be something like this:
