Overview

By default, all your users are seen on the Users Page, and you can find your users sectioned into their respective companies under the All Companies tab. However, by applying filters to it, you'll be able to narrow your results and improve your data analysis to optimize your onboarding materials.

The Users page also allows you to use all the user attributes and event data as filters to create specific user segments.

Company Details

To see the details of a specific company, you need to navigate to the Company Details Page by clicking on a single row in the Company Page under the Users menu.

Types of filters

Browser Attributes

These are also the information about your users; however, they are automatically collected from your user's browser session by UserGuiding and are not customizable. I.e., a user's browser language.

User Attributes

These are the information about your users that you can use for targeting UserGuiding content that you set up in your UserGuiding installation. I.e., a user's email address.

UserGuiding Material

These are the user actions automatically tracked by UserGuiding on how users engage with each live material (Guide, Checklist, Surveys). I.e., a user is completing a Guide.

User Actions

These are the user actions within your application, which can be tracked from your application and sent to UserGuiding. I.e., a user clicking on a certain button.

Filtering Users

In the example below, we’ll show you how to retrieve the users who

have seen the Black Friday Guide

AND

first interacted before 01/11/2023

AND

set the browser's language to anything other than English

In the next example, we'll show you how to retrieve users who

have not completed the Black Friday Guide OR have completed Checklist 1

AND

use Mac OS operating system OR use Chrome as their browser

Editing Filters

You can use AND/OR rules to make the best combination and retrieve the most convenient data.

Saving Filters

You can give a name to your filter combination and save it as a Segment. You can access your saved segments by using the dropdown at any time.

Removing Filters

Here’s how to remove the filters and go back to All Users' data.
