Previewing Guides
Learn how to preview your Guides or a specific step.

Overview

Before making your Guide available to your end-users, it is crucial to preview its behavior to ensure that it functions correctly and delivers the desired user experience. UserGuiding provides a robust preview feature that allows you to see how your Guide and individual Steps will appear and operate in the live environment before you publish them. This feature is instrumental in verifying the accuracy of your content and the effectiveness of your interactive elements.

Previewing A Guide

Guide List

Within the UserGuiding Extension, navigate to the Guide List view, where all your Guides are displayed. Here, you will find a Preview Button next to each Guide listed. By clicking this button, you can view a simulation of the entire Guide. This preview helps you assess the overall flow and design of your Guide, ensuring that it aligns with your expectations and performs as intended.

Guide Detail Page

For a more detailed examination, go to the Guide Detail Page. This page provides a comprehensive view of the specific Guide you are working on. Use the Preview Button on this page to see how the Guide appears in its entirety. This view allows you to scrutinize the setup of all included Steps and ensure that each component is correctly configured and displayed. It is an opportunity to make any final adjustments before the Guide goes live.

Step Side Editor

If you need to focus on the functionality and presentation of individual Steps within your Guide, use the Preview Button available in the Step Side Editor. This feature allows you to preview each Step separately, helping you ensure that each one operates as expected and integrates smoothly into the overall Guide. This is particularly useful for fine-tuning the details of each Step and ensuring a cohesive user experience.

By utilizing these preview options, you can thoroughly test and refine your Guide and its individual Steps. This process helps identify any issues or areas for improvement, ensuring that your Guide delivers a clear, engaging, and effective experience for your end-users. Taking the time to preview your Guide before publishing is a key step in maintaining high-quality user guidance and achieving successful user interactions.
