Lighthouse AI Threads, Sharing and Usage Limits
Every question you ask Lighthouse AI starts a thread. Threads keep your questions and answers together, let you follow up with context, and can be shared with teammates. This article covers managing threads, sharing them, and the limits that keep Lighthouse AI available for everyone on your account.
Threads
The left sidebar lists your threads by date. Click one to reopen it, or click New Question to start fresh.
Each thread is a conversation: ask a follow-up, and Lighthouse keeps the earlier answers in mind, so "Now show me the same for the Pro segment" works after a material report. A thread holds up to 20 questions; when it is full, start a new one.
Hover a thread to open its menu, where you can pin, share, rename, or delete it. Deleting asks for confirmation and cannot be undone.
Sharing a thread with your team
Sharing makes a thread visible to every panel member on your account. Choose Share from the thread menu and confirm; choose Unshare at any time to make it private again. Shared threads show a team icon next to their title.
Threads teammates share with you appear in the Shared With You section of the sidebar, with a badge showing the owner. Shared threads are read-only for everyone but the owner: you can read every question and answer, but to continue the investigation, ask the question in a new thread of your own.
Reading an answer
An answer card shows the formatted response, any interactive view Lighthouse produced, and a freshness footer telling you whether it was computed from live data or from the daily rollup that covers data through yesterday.
You can copy an answer as text, or use Ask again to rerun the question with current data. Where an answer lists users, click a user to see their details and jump to their activity on the Users page. If an answer was interrupted, the steps that already ran stay in the thread; just ask again.
Daily token allowance
Lighthouse AI draws from a daily token allowance shared by your whole account, and it resets at midnight UTC (Coordinated Universal Time). The Daily usage card in the sidebar shows how much of today's allowance is used. Tokens measure how much the AI reads and writes, so a broad question costs more than a quick lookup.
When the allowance is spent, the composer is replaced by a notice with a countdown, and questions resume automatically at the reset. In the meantime, you can contact our team about a higher allowance, or use the UserGuiding MCP Server: every Lighthouse question and action is available there anytime, and MCP usage does not count against the allowance.
Other limits
Threads hold 20 questions, analytics questions cover up to one year of data, and during busy periods Lighthouse may ask you to wait a minute and try again.
Troubleshooting
I do not see Lighthouse AI in the menu. Lighthouse AI is included on paid plans and during trials; on free plans, opening it shows an upgrade prompt. If your plan qualifies and the entry is still missing, contact our team.
The page says "Lighthouse AI is turned off". Lighthouse AI has been disabled for your account by UserGuiding. Upgrading does not lift this, so reach out to support.
The answer does not match a report in the panel. Check the freshness footer: rollup-based answers cover data through yesterday, while most panel reports include today. Also confirm the time window in your question matches the report's date range.
Lighthouse did not finish the answer. The connection dropped, or the answer took too long. The steps that ran are kept; ask again to continue.
