Using the Question Bank, Material Reports and Actions
The Lighthouse AI home screen gives you four ways to start: type a question, tap a suggested question, or open one of three cards. Each card does one thing. Material Report runs a full report on a material, Question Bank lists every question Lighthouse can answer, and Actions lists everything it can draft.
Asking a question
Type into the ask box and press Enter. Be specific about the material, segment, event, or time window you mean; for example, "Where do users drop off in the Setup guide in the last 90 days?" rather than "Show me drop-offs". Under the box, the suggested questions work on any project and are a good first try.
While Lighthouse works, you see each step it takes. Once the answer arrives, you can copy it or use Ask again to rerun it with fresh data.
Question Bank
The Question Bank is the complete, always-current list of questions Lighthouse AI can answer, grouped by what they measure: your project's pulse, materials, adoption and goals, people and accounts, and surveys. Questions with placeholders show them as chips, for example, "How is {material} performing?"
Questions marked SOON are planned but not live yet; everything else is marked LIVE.
Completing a question
Click a LIVE question and one of two things happens:
- If every placeholder can be filled from your workspace, a Complete Your Question dialog opens. Each placeholder becomes a dropdown listing your own materials, segments, events, and other items, plus standard choices such as time windows. Pick your values and click Ask Lighthouse. No typing needed.
- Otherwise, the question lands in the ask box with the placeholders in square brackets. Replace the bracketed parts and press Enter.
You can always type a different time window than the offered ones.
Material Report
Material Report gives you the full report for a material without writing a question. Click the card, pick a material type, then either choose All for a report across every material of that type or search for one by name. The report runs immediately, with the analytics view that fits the material, such as a step funnel for a guide or a score breakdown for a survey. Ask a follow-up in the same thread to narrow the window or compare with another material.
Actions
The Actions card lists everything Lighthouse AI can draft, from segments to Knowledge Base articles and Product Updates posts. Picking an action does not run anything: it places a ready-made sentence in the ask box for you to review and edit before sending, for example, "Create a segment of users who completed onboarding in the last 30 days".
Action draft cards
When an answer includes an action, the card is marked as a draft with the footer "Draft only. Nothing goes live without you." Click Review Draft to open the item unpublished in its usual editor, the same place you would create it by hand. Publish, tweak or discard it from there.
Tips for better answers
Name materials, segments, and events the way they appear in the panel. The Complete Your Question dropdowns guarantee an exact match.
Say the time window. Without one, Lighthouse usually defaults to the last 30 days.
Ask one thing at a time, then follow up in the same thread. Follow-ups keep the context of earlier answers.
