UserGuiding allows you to send data via identification and track methods, which helps monitor user behavior and interactions. You can also create events by converting changes in user attributes into trackable events.
This guide will walk you through creating events from existing attributes.
How to Create an Event with Attributes
Access Events on the Data Page under Settings
Click + New Event. You'll see several options: No-Code Event, Page View Event, Custom Event (via code), and Create from Attributes. Select Create from Attributes to create an event from an existing attribute.
To create an event based on changes in user attributes, fill out the opening form:
Event Name:
Think of a descriptive name that succinctly describes your event. This name will help you easily identify the event in your analytics.
Set Event Condition:
Select the user attribute you want to monitor. This could be any attribute you've previously identified and sent to UserGuiding. The event will be counted and tracked whenever a value changes from any value to the selected one.
Backward Tracking:
Decide if you want to apply this event to users who already met the criteria before the event was created. This allows you to capture historical data.
By following these steps, you can effectively create and track events based on changes in user attributes. This enhances your ability to monitor and respond to user behavior within UserGuiding by creating segments with these events.
