Overview
The AI Assistant has configurable usage limits to help you balance effective customer interactions and cost management. You can limit the maximum number of resolutions billed in a month to control your AI Assistant budget.
To configure message limits, go to the AI Assistant Usage Control page. You can view your usage details here, such as "Current Monthly Usage: 21 Resolutions."

Understanding Resolution
A chat is defined as resolved when the customer confirms that any answer provided is satisfactory or exits the conversation without requesting further assistance. The user has 24 hours to come back to the conversation; if, after 24 hours, the customer does not request further assistance, this will be considered a resolution.
Billing for resolutions
- AI Assistant resolutions are billed on your usual billing date.
- We include all conversations that initiate within the start of a billing cycle and extend up to 1 day before the end of the billing cycle. Your next invoice will include conversations that start on the last day of the billing cycle.
- The resolution figure that appears on your panel and invoice may be up to 48 hours old relative to UserGuiding’s reporting. Any resolutions omitted from an invoice due to this delay will appear on the subsequent invoice.
- The price per resolution is $0.69 for Starter and Growth Plans. It’ll be custom pricing for Enterprise plan.
- Trial Users will have unlimited resolution credits during their trial period. When the trial ends, the AI Assistant Widget will be disabled.
- Subscribers will receive 50 free resolution credits right after their subscription starts. These credits are not time-bound; each new resolution will be charged after all the free resolution credits are consumed.
- You will only be charged for one resolution per conversation during a billing period, even if the AI Assistant resolves multiple queries in that conversation.
Cost Control

- To control the total cost of resolutions, you can set a limit on the number of resolutions you offer in a month.
- We cannot guarantee that the limit will be 100% accurate. Due to the nature of resolutions and our calculation process, the status of conversations may change over time. As a result, we cannot ensure that the UserGuiding AI Assistant will stop at the exact specified limit, and the final number of resolutions may vary—either higher or lower.
- If you set a limit lower than your current usage, the UserGuiding AI Assistant widget will be immediately disabled. If the number of resolutions later drops below the configured limit, the widget will be re-enabled.
By managing these limitations, you can optimize your AI Assistant's usage, maintain control over your costs, and deliver a great user experience.
