Overview

Follow the steps below to configure your AI Assistant for multilingual support and make it accessible in multiple languages, enhancing the user experience for global customers.

Configuring Language Support in the AI Assistant

Adding Additional Languages

,

  • You will see the languages you added in the Localization section in your panel. Learn how to add languages to your account here.

  • Select the additional language, which will be added to your panel immediately.

  • Under the Chat tab, add translations for each new language for the Chat Widget and Chat History texts.

After adding all the desired languages, you can make any of them the default language for your AI Assistant.

Localizing AI Assistant Responses

You can add sources in all the relevant source types, indicating the language of the source.

Automatic Language Detection

The AI Assistant will automatically detect a user's browser language and respond in that language if it matches one of the supported languages in your settings. If the user’s browser language is not available, the Assistant will default to the primary language.

Users can also manually switch between languages in the UserGuiding interface, ensuring flexibility and convenience.

Managing and Monitoring Language Support

Viewing Translation Status

To keep track of your content translation status, color-coded indicators show whether each language’s responses are complete:

  • Green: Published and ready to use.
  • Grey: In draft status.
  • Clear: Missing translation.
  • Yellow: Published but with updates pending.

Use filters to view specific languages and translation statuses for easy management.

Important Tips

  • Single Editor: Only one person can edit a language setting at a time to prevent content conflicts.
  • Category and Response Visibility: Ensure that translated content is published and assigned correctly so it appears as expected in the AI Assistant’s responses.

By setting up language support in your UserGuiding AI Assistant, you’ll provide a more inclusive, localized experience, helping users worldwide access self-service support in their preferred language.
