Integrating a Knowledge Base into the Resource Center
Learn how to use the search function within the Resource Center as your in-widget Help Center.

Overview

The Resource Center has a built-in Search Function that lets users search through your Resource Center Modules and your external Knowledge Base — without leaving your platform.

How can I connect a Knowledge Base to my Resource Center?

  1. Go to the Content tab of your Resource Center.
  2. Enable Bring search results from a Knowledge Base.
  3. Under Connect with, select your provider: Zendesk, Google, or UserGuiding.
  4. Paste your Knowledge Base URL into the Subdomain field.

Important: If you select Zendesk, enter your domain in this format: name.zendesk.com.

Optionally, enable Display in Widget if you want users to see the Knowledge Base search results directly inside the Resource Center widget.

Note: If your Knowledge Base is hosted on Zendesk, select Zendesk as your provider. If it's indexed by Google regardless of where it's hosted, choose Google instead. Keep in mind the limitations of the Custom Search JSON API used for the Google option; results may not exactly match Google's main search engine.

If you're connecting a UserGuiding-hosted Knowledge Base, selecting UserGuiding as the provider also lets you set the Knowledge Base field name and choose the correct language.
