Scheduling materials
Learn how to display your onboarding content within a specific time frame.

Overview

This article will teach you to set scheduling criteria for your Guides, Checklists, Hotspots, and Resource Centers.

Note: Material scheduling features are offered only in Growth and Enterprise plans.

Common use cases

Below, you can find some usual scenarios in which you would set a time frame for displaying your materials:

  • Promote a limited-time deal to your users with a banner;
  • Launch a new Resource Center simultaneously with significant UI changes;
  • Announce new features with a Guide or Hotspot as soon as they are released;
  • Automatically remove any temporary announcements after some time;
  • Display messages for scheduled maintenance/downtime.

How can I schedule the onboarding materials?

  • In your Panel, navigate to the section of the content that you want to schedule.
  • Next, open the settings of the desired onboarding material by clicking on its name or the cog icon.
  • When editing a guide or a hotspot, scroll down to the Scheduling section. To view Checklists and Resource Centers, click on the “Configure” tab.
  • Please select a start date and time, an end date and time, or both, depending on your preference.
  • The Guide in the example will be displayed between May 29, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. and July 6, 2024, at 12:00 p.m., according to your specific browser time setting.

Important: Your onboarding material’s status should be active for the scheduling functionality work. You can enable the option to set the material status as "inactive" when the scheduled period is over.
