Overview

Utilizing media components within your onboarding content efficiently introduces people to your platform and builds value. This article explains adding videos, images/GIFs to your Guides and Hotspots.

Adding images/GIFs

You can follow the steps below to add images or GIFs to your onboarding content:

  • First, open the Guide Step/Hotspot in the Chrome extension.

  • Next, click on the “+ADD” button to add a new component and select Image.

  • Click on the empty section to upload an image/GIF from your computer. Alternatively, you can click on the “Upload Image” button in the opening toolbar.

  • You can also use the Image URL option to use self-hosted images.

How can I modify the image component?

You’ll see a toolbar when you click on the image component. By utilizing this bar, you can:

  • Upload a new image/GIF if you want to change the existing one.

  • Adjust the maximum height and set its alignment.

  • Arrange surrounding paddings.

  • Let your users go to a specific URL or start a guide by clicking on the image/GIF. You can achieve this by inserting a hyperlink to the image component.

Adding videos

You can follow the steps below to add videos to your onboarding content.

  • Open the Guide Step/Hotspot in the Chrome extension.

  • Click on the “+ADD” button to add a new component and select Video.

  • Click on the empty section where you’ll insert the embedded code from your video provider (YouTube, Vimeo, etc). Alternatively, you can click on the “Embed Code” button in the opening toolbar.

  • Simply paste the embedded code into the opening window.
